Practitioner Doctorate in Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Psychology (Psych D) University of Surrey
Counselling psychologists training is three years post-graduate training at University and working (usually in the NHS). I trained to use cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), humanistic/person-centred, psychodynamic (mainly object relations) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT - an evidenced treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder).

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy for treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder. I have particular experience of working with high risk individuals presenting with self harm/parasuicide, self-destructive behaviours, addictions and other risky behaviours.

Work History
Since August 2006: Independent Practice.
In my private practice I assess and treat a broad range of mental health problems amongst adults, teenagers and children depression, anxiety disorders (including general anxiety, panic and OCD), PTSD, addictions, eating disorders, adjustment disorders, anger and stress management.
Prior to this I worked as a Senior Clinical Psychologist at tertiary level in the NHS within a specialist psychology service (based at St Peters Hospital Chertsey, within Surrey and Borders NHS Trust). This service comprised forensic psychology, personality disorder and learning disabilities services and a specialist Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Programme I assessed and treated individuals with a broad range of severe and enduring mental health problems: psychosis, personality disorders, severe anxiety and depression as well as those who experience extreme emotions, self-harm, self-destructive behaviours and parasuicide/suicidal behaviours.
I have also worked in student counselling services, general adult psychotherapy, Asperger clinic and learning disabilities services.
Before becoming a practising psychologist I was managing director of a market research consultancy (Research Works Ltd) in London, specialising in qualitative research (mainly focus groups) for public health campaigns in various areas including addictions (smoking, drugs, alcohol), STDs, and skin cancer (sun awareness).
