About my experience and practice
I have several year of experience working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health settings, within both the NHS and private sector. I specialise in assessing and providing therapeutic interventions to children and young people with mild to complex and enduring difficulties, including:
- Low self-esteem and depression
- Anxiety disorders, such as, phobias, social anxiety and separation anxiety
- Obsessive compulsive disorder
- Post diagnosis work for difficulties associated with autism
- Behavioural difficulties
- Nightmares and sleep problems
- Pre-school problems
The format of therapy may include individual therapy, parent sessions or family appointments. I work mainly in a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) model, but can also provide Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and parenting approaches, where appropriate. As a Clinical Psychologist I am skilled at integrating various therapy approaches to tailor therapy to the specific needs of the young person, to address problems and help them reach their potential. I can also offer consultation and training to school and other agencies, providing information regarding mental health problems and their impact, along with appropriate recommendations for support.
I work in Hindhead.
