I have worked in the NHS since 2006 in a range of settings including primary and secondary care mental health services and within medical teams. I have a wide range of experience working with emotional difficulties of varying complexity.
I can offer skills and experience with the following;
- Emotional impact of long term health conditions
- Medically unexplained symptoms
- Anxiety; including phobias, health anxiety, social anxiety and agoraphobia
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Trauma, including symptoms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Relationship Difficulties
- Low Self Esteem
My training and experience enables me to draw on a range of therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and mindfulness practice.
I enjoy working collaboratively with people to build a therapeutic relationship and tailor therapy to suit the needs of the individual. I am able to offer both brief and longer term interventions.
I am also able to provide specialist supervision and teaching for a range of health care professionals.
