My training, experience and clinical approach

I am trained at doctorate level in a range of theoretical models in Psychology namely cognitive behavioural therapy, psychoanalytic work, systemic approach and also third-wave approaches such as (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy & Compassion Focused Therapy).

I have worked within the NHS for the last 18 years. I have worked with adolescents and adults who have enduring mental health difficulties. Currently, I work within a community mental health team and work with ages ranging from 18-65.

My approach is person-centred. I integrate my broad-based training to offer bespoke psychological therapy. The diversity of knowledge and my experience allows me to tailor treatment approaches to each individual whom I work with. It is important to me to work in a way that is informed by empirical research and clinical guidelines of good practice, but also not be restricted to working within one approach as some therapists do.

Besides individual work, I also have experience in delivering group therapies based on CBT and DBT models. Aim of these interventions is to help people build their skills and enhance their self-confidence in managing their distress more effectively.
