Clinical Experience

I am a BPS and HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist with a special interest in working with adults with complex mental health problems including mood, anxiety, psychosis, and personality difficulties. I have a particular interest in personality disorder and my doctoral research looked at couple relationships and Dependent Personality Disorder. Alongside my private practice I also work for a secondary care psychological therapies service in South London.

I strive to ensure that the support I provide is grounded on robust clinical research and guidelines, and work collaboratively with my clients to ensure that any interventions address their individual psychological needs and take account of personal preferences. My aim is to empower those I work with to develop their resources and coping strategies in order to live more satisfying and meaningful lives.

I have provided assessments and psychological interventions within a range of NHS settings since 2005. I draw mainly from a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) framework and have gained expertise in using third-wave CBT techniques that include Mindfulness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My work is also informed by systemic, psychodynamic and recovery principles. I am interested in the mind-body interface and have recently completed a teacher-training in yoga. I am competent in working with people across their lifespan and my work is often informed by an understanding of developmental and life-stage issues.
